Highlights

January Meeting (January 2011, at Rockford Ref.):

Dean Sinclair approved for enrollment in training as a Commissioned Pastor at Knapp Reformed.  Todd Schmidt examined and transferred from Evangelical Presbyterian denomination for service at Remembrance Reformed.  Seminary students Steve Wiltjer and Rob Matthews came under care of Classis.  Approved changes to the Book of Church Order proposed by General Synod.

 

March Meeting (March 2011, at Standale Ref.)

President's report on the state of religion in the classis.  2nd Reading of Classis Rules of Order.  Hospitality Team report.  Approved examiners for student exams in May.

 

May Meeting (May 2011, at Servants Community)

Annual "exams meeting.  Two candidates, Craig Vereke and Rob Matthew examined and approved as candidates for ordination in the RCA.

 

September Meeting (September 2011, at Third Reformed)

Election of officers, three seminary students under care, Conflict Redemption Process.

 

January Meeting (January 22, at Trinity Reformed)

Election of Rev. Ralph Robrahn as Vice President to fill vacancy.  Approval of changes to Book of Church Order as forwarded by General Synod.  Discussion of closing of Mosaic Life worshipping community and, combined with Greenville situation, concensus that a different strategy on church plants and how to support struggling congregations is needed.
